You Should Get a Bucket of Chips and Ice Cream at This Beach Cafe Near Filey

If you’re looking for a novelty beach lunch on the Yorkshire coast, this one’s worth the drive. Here’s what’s on the menu, what it costs, and the one thing you need to remember before you go.
Where is it?
Beach Cafe sits at Hunmanby Gap, just a short drive from both Bridlington and Filey on the Yorkshire coast. It’s a relaxed, dog-friendly spot serving light bites, toasted and cold sandwiches, breakfast items, snacks, and they have a specials board packed with homemade cakes and sweet treats

What to expect
We started with a chip butty, a cheese and tomato toastie, and of course a bucket of chips.
The bucket of chips. It’s £1 more than the regular £3 portion, but you get to keep the bucket afterwards to take down to the beach, and even just for the novelty, it’s worth the extra pound.
We couldn’t leave without the bucket of ice cream too, plus an apple crumble and custard from the specials board. The ice cream bucket came packed with a mix of flavours, strawberry and chocolate sauce, a generous helping of whipped cream, and a flake on top.
Tip: The cafe is dog-friendly throughout and the beach is just steps away, making it a great spot for a dog walk and lunch.
