You Can Get Free Entry at This Pick-Your-Own Wildflower Farm Near Helmsley
This pick-your-own wildflower farm just outside Helmsley is now open for the season and entry is completely free. Here’s everything you need to know before you go, from prices to opening times.
Where is the farm?
The Flower Belt is a dog-friendly, family-run pick-your-own flower farm on the edge of Helmsley, North Yorkshire. Their fields are planted with pollinator-friendly wildflowers, and the farm has just opened for its summer season.
How does it work?
Getting started is simple. Entry to the farm itself is free – you only pay for what you pick.
Here’s how it works:
- Choose your vessel: a jam jar, a vase, or a whole bucket
- Wander the fields: pick your own colourful wildflowers
- Head to the kiosk: your flowers are wrapped up and ready to take home
While you’re there, you can also grab a bite from The Honey Tap. The bar is set up right in the fields, serving wood-fired pizzas and hot and cold drinks – all enjoyed with sweeping views over the North York Moors.
The farm doesn’t stop at wildflowers. Its planting changes with the seasons – tulip fields in spring, wildflowers and towering sunflowers in summer, and a pumpkin patch in autumn – so there’s plenty of reasons to come back across the year.

The Flower Belt sits just outside Helmsley, one of North Yorkshire’s most-loved market towns and a gateway to the North York Moors National Park. If you’re making a day of it, there’s plenty nearby to pair with your visit:
